The sun is already beating down on Teglværket’s beach and early morning visitors are beginning to arrive looking for a bargain in South Harbor’s largest flea market. This cultural and community venue, is back in business after a lengthy winter break. Located on Teglholmen, Teglværket has become a popular meeting hub not only for South Harbor’s local residents, but also for Copenhagen’s visitors looking for something with a distinctive local and informal flavor. This former warehouse is now home to street food, an impressive long bar and a beach where you can chill-out to the tones from the in-house DJ.
When Paper Island closed down at the beginning of the year, many believed that Teglværket would become one of Copenhagen’s street food’s focal points. However, the creative forces behind Teglværket had ideas of creating a cultural & community venue that can bring South Harbor’s differing neighborhoods together.
Great to have you have back.
